PARISH NURSE

John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The Parish Nurse works closely with the Caring Connection to be a dynamic witness for God in our parish. The purpose is to collaborate with the pastoral staff and congregants and participate in the ongoing transformation of the faith community into sources of health and healing through partnership with other community health resources, foster new and creative responses to health and wellness concerns. Other roles of the Parish Nurse include:

  • Integrator of faith and health
  • Counselor
  • Advocate
  • Referral agent
  • Pastoral Care visits
  • Facilitator

The Parish Nurse Ministry becomes a concrete way in which to live out the call to preach, teach, and heal.

Lunch and Learn Series

This series focuses on maintaining physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Join us for a time of fellowship, a potluck of sandwiches, salads and cookies, and a chance to learn about a health-related topic.

Caring Connection

The purpose of the Caring Connection is to be caring Disciples of Christ who offer a tangible and loving response to friends in a time of need or crisis. We are the conduit that connects the ministering staff and the prayer chain with the personal concerns of the congregation. Members of this group send cards, write notes, deliver prayer shawls, make phone calls, take Holy Communion to the homebound and visit people in the congregation.
